Djim Job
Born in the Island of São Vicente and raised in the United States, Djim Job grew up in a family of musicians. Considered to be one of the most prominent Cabo Verdean musicians today, he has performed and produced for over 25 years in over 30 countries and across four continents.
Djim Job has performed and produced for artists such as Bana, Cesária Évora, Ildo Lobo, Tito Paris, Salif Keita, Bonga, Lura, Maria de Barros, Shokanti, Mayra Andrade, Rosa Mestre, Nancy Vieira and many more. His performances in venues around the world haveearned him the prestigious Outstanding Pres- ervation of Cabo Verdean Culture award presented by the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, in 2010.
Djim's production work of artists Mirri Lobo and Dina Medina were distin- guished by the Cabo Verde Music Awards with Song of the Year and Album of the Year in 2011. Djim Job has always explored various musical genres and instruments but it is the bass that has made him one of the most sought after award-winning artists.
